Jan 2007 - hard to believe that we have been up & running for over 5 years now! We had lots of fun on the show circuit in 2006 & it was lovely to meet customers old & new & catch up on horse & human news, although it is always lovely to return home & ride again.

Yourgifthorse is very much a family based business. Started by Sandra, the whole family mucks in, whether loading the lorry for shows or staying at home to look after the animals. As the business has grown, Sandra's daughter Christina has becomed more involved & loves working in a business that involves horses but no mucking out (she has enough of that with her own 3 dressage horses!).

We are based in one of the most beautiful parts of Wales and over the years horses & ponies have been central in our lives. Starting with small family ponies, we now have 9 between us including Christina's first pony, Pinky who will be 25 in 2007. (& whose fame is spreading thanks to the book "Hairy Ponies & Friends - A Day at the Races?" where she has a starring role). We have been busy with work like most people and yet have been lucky to mix it all up together and this company is the result!

As a china painter I chose more often than not horses as my subject (more details on the Carina china is in the catalogue) and worked in a co-operative venture with other artists and with the Welsh Craft Council exhibited at the Royal Welsh Show. I of course really enjoyed seeing and buying other crafts and artwork displayed to bring back to our home here.
We noticed that like-minded visitors were also looking for distinctive and beautiful gifts which are not always easy to find in the uniform high streets and certainly not when in a hurry or late!
How again to find that particular artists work we saw at some event somewhere??
mmm..birthday`s next week ?! Help! - Hooray! Trumpets Sound!

We will be doing the hunting and trotting over hill and dale to find that elusive equine in whatever shape or form bringing various artists work together with other gift and special present ideas for you to browse at your leisure on those boring non riding days and nights.

We wouldn't be here without you - our customers so a big Thankyou to all who have supported us in this venture and for your good ideas and help. It is ultimately a site about people who love horses so please if you find something you think might be of interest to others let us know! We have some fabulous new products ready to hit the shelves in 2007 so keep an eye out for these. We are also supplying more & more tack shops around the globe, so if your favorite local shop isn't carrying the gifts you want - send them in our direction!

If you are an artist use the gallery facility to its full capacity to bring customers straight to you. The site is getting bigger and better every time you visit. Leave an enquiry with us even if it is not stocked : we may have seen it or know who has and that is also why we have included a free of charge section for collectors to to post wanted ads.

We will be out at certain events where some large items not suitable for mail order will be on the stand and an invitation is included with the dates list so we hope that we will meet you off net too! Also keep an eye out for the Carina dressage horses on the circuit in 2007 - when not eating all the profits from yourgifthorse, they occasionally do some work! Please come & say hello if you spot us - Caroline is always greatful for test reading volunteers as the family are too embarassed to read now as she still manages to go wrong.
